Special Olympics Oregon is about inspiring greatness. Nike is about getting kids moving. The two together equal a great partnership. Special Olympics Oregon Youth Games presented by Nike is a one-day event designed to help kids learn about a prospective sport and to participate in the unique Special Olympics experience. School-aged youth, ages 7-18, who are eligible for Special Olympics are invited to attend.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The day will begin with an Opening Ceremonies followed by sports stations where participants will learn basic skills. The Youth Games will culminate with a closing ceremony where each athlete will be awarded and recognized for their participation. The Games, hosted by Nike at the Nike World Headquarters, are produced and managed by Special Olympics Oregon staff in collaboration with Nike.

“I couldn’t think of a better partner for Nike in our community programs that are designed to get kids – all kids – more physically active. We think this exciting new Special Olympics program will help us give more kids that special sense of accomplishment that comes from sports and competition.”
—Gary DeStefano, President of Global Operations, Nike, Inc.
