What is the High School Challenge?

We call it Pledge and Plunge, and here’s why…

The Pledge

Take the pledge to Spread the Word to End the Word. We want YOU to help raise the consciousness of society about the dehumanizing and hurtful effects of the R-word. Urge the people around you to resolve to stop using it as an insult, casual or intended.

The Plunge

Polar Plunge is a wild, crazy, zany and fun opportunity for you to support Special Olympics Oregon athletes by getting your friends and classmates to join you in your plunge into an icy Oregon body of water.

Pledge AND Plunge!

We want your school to take the pledge to make the commitment to wipe the R-word from your vocabulary and then take the plunge to show your support of Special Olympics Oregon athletes.

Grab your friends, engage your fellow students, ignite your school spirit and Pledge and Plunge! It’s fun, and oh yes….we do want you to wear your school colors or wild costumes. Register for the plunge today!
