*Oregon Team Wellness

Special Olympics Oregon now offers a program called Oregon Team Wellness (OTW). With the slogan, “Wellness is a Sport,” OTW provides year-round fitness, nutrition and food management education and training through a program that is uniquely adapted to individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Athletes and volunteers can participate in OTW in addition to another sport. Registration will be capped at 50 total participants and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Athletes are encouraged to bring a friend/family member to participate with them.

A very special note: Attendance is very important. Per Special Olympics Oregon rules, all athletes are required to attend a minimum number of practices or you will no longer be eligible to compete in Regional or State competitions.

You must register for your sport each season and have a valid Athlete Medical on file before attending any Special Olympics Oregon events, practices or competitions. If you aren't sure if your medical is valid or when it is going to expire, please email the Washington County Volunteer Medicals Manager at Do not wait until the last minute, as this may affect your eligibility to participate.

All Special Olympics Oregon volunteers who work closely with our athletes must have a valid Class A Volunteer Form on file, must have a background check completed and must complete three trainings and quizzes: General Orientation, Protective Behaviors, and Concussion Education. Volunteer forms must be updated and resubmitted every three years. When your form is going to expire, you will receive a renewal reminder e-mail from Christopher Foltz, the Washington County Volunteers Manager. If you aren’t sure if your form is valid or would like to become a volunteer, please e-mail Christopher Foltz, the Washington County Volunteers Manager at
