Athletes
A very special note: Attendance is very important. Per Special Olympics Oregon rules, all athletes are required to attend a minimum number of practices or you will no longer be eligible to compete in Regional or State competitions.
Medicals
You must register for your sport each season and have a valid Athlete Medical on file before attending any Special Olympics Oregon events, practices or competitions. If you need a new medical form,or aren't sure if your medical is valid or when it is going to expire, please email the Washington County Volunteer Medicals Manager at medicalsmanager209@gmail.com. Do not wait until the last minute, as this may affect your eligibility to participate.
Volunteers
All Special Olympics Oregon volunteers who work closely with our athletes must have a valid Class A Volunteer Form on file, must have a background check completed and must complete three trainings and quizzes: General Orientation, Protective Behaviors, and Concussion Education. Volunteer forms must be updated and resubmitted every three years. When your form is going to expire, you will receive a renewal reminder e-mail from Page Nieslanik, the Washington County Volunteers Manager. If you aren’t sure if your form is valid or would like to become a volunteer, please e-mail Page Nieslanik, the Washington County Volunteers Manager at wash.cty.volmgr@gmail.com.
