Sports and Competition

"Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt." - Athlete Oath

Special Olympics Oregon athletes are children and adults with intellectual disabilities who like other athletes – love to train, compete and do their best, whether they win or lose. Programs offered in Oregon provide athletes with the chance to develop physical fitness, sports skills, social skills and self-esteem, it's Training for Life.

Special Olympics Oregon holds athletic events in every region of the state, every month of the year, providing athletes the opportunity to compete and train during three sport seasons. In all sports disciplines, athletes train intensely for eight weeks in their local communities prior to competition.

Athletes can participate in the following sports at no cost to them or their families through Special Olympics Oregon:

Alpine Skiing
